Cortes do Tua Cortes do Tua Wines arises from the intersection between the Tua Valley vineyards and the hand of two young winemakers Duarte da Costa and Ana de Almeida. The passion for wine, the international experience and the wine tradition of the Douro united these two young people in the production of harmonious, balanced and elegant wines. The grapes of Cortes do Tua wines come from 15 hectares of vineyards divided into parcels. The white wine vineyards are located at an altitude of 500 to 700 meters and the red wines are located on the slopes of the Tua river, at a height of 300 to 400 meters. Cortes do Tua winery is located in the Douro Superior sub-region in Pombal de Ansiães, Carrazeda de Ansiães. The varieties planted in our vineyards are divided into plots of white and red varieties. The white varieties are: Rabigato, Viosinho, Gouveio, Códega do Larinho, Malvasia Fina and Arinto. We also have a plot of old vineyards with about 20 grape varieties all mixed. The red grape varieties are: Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Alicante de Bouschet. |
